🥔 Parmesan & Garlic Potato Cake Fries

A crispy, indulgent twist on classic potato cakes — cut into fries, deep-fried until golden and finished with parmesan, garlic and fresh herbs.

🛒 Ingredients (for 2–3 portions)

Potato Cake Fries

  • 600 g potato cakes (potatisbullar)

  • 1 L neutral oil (rapeseed or sunflower oil), for frying

  • Fine sea salt, to taste

Parmesan & Garlic Finish

  • 100 g finely grated parmesan

  • 2 garlic cloves, finely grated

  • 1 small bunch flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped

  • Freshly ground black pepper

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Fries

  • Cut the potato cakes into even fries, approx. 1–1.5 cm thick

  • Keep sizes consistent for even frying

2. Fry

  • Heat oil to 170–175°C (340–350°F)

  • Fry the potato cake fries in batches for 6–7 minutes, until deeply golden and crisp

  • Remove and drain briefly on paper towels

  • Season lightly with salt while hot

3. Parmesan & Garlic Mix

  • In a bowl, combine:

    • Grated parmesan

    • Grated garlic

    • Chopped parsley

    • Black pepper

  • Mix gently to keep the texture light and airy

4. Finish

  • Transfer the hot fries to a large bowl

  • Sprinkle over the parmesan mixture

  • Toss or shake gently until evenly coated

  • Serve immediately while crisp and aromatic
